Family Fun
Oktoberfest Brisbane 2011 is the ideal day out for the whole family. Appealing to everyone from children to grandparents, it’s your classic German folk festival experience brought to Brisbane.
The entertainment in the ever-popular Oktoberfest tent is a great family favourite. There you’ll find singing and dancing to the Munich Oompah band, yodelers, traditional dancers and cow bell ringers, plus all the fun and laughs at the Bavarian Strongman and Miss Oktoberfest competitions.
This year there are so many reasons to bring the whole family we don’t have space to list them all. But here are some of the highlights:
- Julia’s traditional puppet theatre is back again and is always a huge hit with the kids
- The cute and cuddly Barnyard babies are a favourite with all ages
- Germany’s extremely popular “Torwand schiessen” (goal shooting) keeps boys (and girls) off all ages busy practicing their goal-scoring skills
- Our Oktoberfest Brisbane photo wall is the perfect place to take a great family photo
- Our face painting artists are big favourites with the younger children
- We’ve got even more rides this year, including the much-loved dodgems, slides and jumping castle
And of course there’s a range of tasty treats that receive top marks from hungry kids. Our decorated gingerbread-style hearts and freshly baked pretzels were the number one kids’ choices last year, closely followed by our large range of tasty sausages and other German treats.
